POSTER DESIGN / SHIRT DESIGN

I was asked by MakeBhm to design a poster and shirt that would be used for their Print for Humanity event. The designs created by our Birmingham designer community would be used to screen print on posters and shirts to raise money for local humanitarian aid groups. The event was a huge success, with over 500 shirts and posters printed, raising around $10,000 in donations.

My design was inspired by the butterfly, an insect that represents freedom and peace. Butterflies also freely migrate between North and South America, something that is highly politicized in American culture but is just a natural process for every being. There are no state or country lines to butterflies, they just do what is natural. They are free to move to a more hospitable environment without being policed.
